The Friends of the Cabildo will bring back the dead again with new skits and ghosts, even better (or worse) than before, with our 37th Annual Ghostly Gallivant Tours this October 20th at the Cabildo!
Explore the Cabildo under the enchanting glow of candlelight and immerse yourself in the chilling tales from the city’s ominous past. Discover the harrowing impact of Yellow Fever, delve into the solemn funeral customs, and uncover the haunting events that claimed the lives of some of our most distinguished residents. Experience a captivating exhibit showcasing Day of the Dead altars, where you can unravel their profound symbolism. Embark on a guided tour through the museum, led by characters dressed in period attire, and savor libations and music in the charming courtyard. Timed entry slots available every half-hour between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm, with tours lasting approximately 75 minutes. Don’t forget to embrace the eerie spirit of the evening by donning your most spine-tingling costume – it’s your chance to unleash your inner fright!

Friends of the Cabildo is a private non-profit volunteer group that provides financial and volunteer support for the Louisiana State Museum, its projects and its properties. Since incorporating in 1956, the Friends of the Cabildo has grown into a large statewide membership organization, a dynamic and motivating force in broadening and supporting the aims of the Louisiana State Museum.
